PoscART DIY ice cream craft bundle, PC-3M pastel tones and wooden shapes

Ice cream shapes cut from smooth wood, and the pastel PC-3M wallet that suits them.

The ice cream bundle pairs assorted wooden ice cream shapes with the POSCA PC-3M soft pastel wallet. The shapes are smooth wood in assorted ice cream designs, ready to paint. The PC-3M fine 0.9 to 1.3mm bullet tip draws sprinkles, drips and stripes at the right scale, and the pastel palette is the natural fit for the subject. POSCA paint is permanent on wood once dry, and the tips wash, reverse and take a PCR3 nib.

It suits a summer birthday party, an end-of-year classroom session or a rainy day at home. Small hands manage the fine tip, and the finished pieces work as ornaments, gift tags or fridge magnets with a magnet added.

The fish bundle is the other summer shape set, and the Halloween bundle covers the spooky end of the year. See the fish craft bundle, the Halloween craft bundle, the PC-3M pastel wallet of 8 and POSCA gift sets.

It draws a 0.9–1.3mm line and is the everyday fine POSCA — enough control for illustration and small lettering, enough coverage to colour in. It is the favourite for journalling and rock painting.

The 3M draws a 0.9–1.3mm line and the 5M a 1.8–2.5mm line. The 3M is better for detail and small work; the 5M covers ground faster and comes in the most colours. Most people end up owning both.

Yes. The PC-3M nib is reversible — a bullet at one end and a chisel edge at the other — and it pulls out with tweezers when it wears. Replacement nibs cost a fraction of a new pen.

Wash and dry the rock first, because dust stops paint sticking. The 3M handles most rock painting, with a PC-1MR for faces and fine detail. Seal anything that will live outside in the garden.

Let it dry fully — 24 hours is safest — then spray a clear acrylic varnish in several light passes from about 30cm rather than one heavy coat, which can reactivate water-based paint and smear it. Always test on a scrap done in the same colours first.
