POSCA PC-3M warm neutral colour tones, wallet of 8

A muted, warm palette of eight in the fine tip, for work where bright colour would shout.

Eight PC-3M markers in warm neutral tones make up this wallet. The colours are muted and natural, the kind that suit portraits, vintage and rustic styling and understated decoration. Because POSCA colours can be layered once dry, the eight build gradually into skin, stone and linen tones. The 0.9 to 1.3mm bullet tip draws the outline and fills small areas, and it washes, reverses and takes a PCR3 nib. The paint is water-based, matte and opaque on paper, wood and fabric.

It suits portrait and figure sketching, wedding and event signage in a soft palette, and decor projects on timber, calico and kraft card. Nothing in the wallet competes with the drawing.

The earth tones wallet adds olives and deeper browns, and the pastel wallet is the cooler soft option. See the PC-3M range, the PC-3M earth tones wallet, the PC-3M pastel wallet and POSCA marker sets.

It draws a 0.9–1.3mm line and is the everyday fine POSCA — enough control for illustration and small lettering, enough coverage to colour in. It is the favourite for journalling and rock painting.

The 3M draws a 0.9–1.3mm line and the 5M a 1.8–2.5mm line. The 3M is better for detail and small work; the 5M covers ground faster and comes in the most colours. Most people end up owning both.

Yes. The PC-3M nib is reversible — a bullet at one end and a chisel edge at the other — and it pulls out with tweezers when it wears. Replacement nibs cost a fraction of a new pen.

Wash and dry the rock first, because dust stops paint sticking. The 3M handles most rock painting, with a PC-1MR for faces and fine detail. Seal anything that will live outside in the garden.

Let it dry fully — 24 hours is safest — then spray a clear acrylic varnish in several light passes from about 30cm rather than one heavy coat, which can reactivate water-based paint and smear it. Always test on a scrap done in the same colours first.
