Common questions
Everything people ask us about POSCA before they buy.
A 0.7–1mm bullet tip: fine lines and small text with a touch more flow than the PC-1MR. It suits outlines, lettering and detail work on paper, card and small objects.
The PC-1MR is the finer of the two at 0.7mm and gives the most controlled line. The PC-1M lets a little more paint through, which helps when a fine line still needs to read clearly. Plenty of people keep both. Compare every tip size.
No. POSCA does not bleed through paper, so you can work both sides of a page. There is nothing to prepare beforehand and nothing to seal afterwards.
It depends on the surface. Porous ones — paper, card, wood, stone, fabric, unglazed ceramic — hold it for good once dry. Non-porous ones such as glass, glazed ceramic and smooth plastic wipe off with a damp cloth until you seal or bake the piece.
POSCA paint is water-based, non-toxic and odourless, with no solvent fumes, which is why it is a primary art room staple. Supervise as normal, keep the small caps away from toddlers and cover the table. Safety Data Sheets are on our SDS page.
