Aussie Christmas window art templates, printable download
Turn any window into an Aussie Christmas display. Print the templates, tape them to the outside of the glass and trace them from the inside with chalk markers or POSCA. No drawing skills needed.
Designed in Australia for Aussie windows: no snow and no holly. Instead there are kookaburras, koalas, waratahs, banksias, wattle and Christmas bush. It works for shop fronts, cafés, classrooms and your own front window.
What's in the download
Aussie Christmas wreath: kookaburra in a Santa hat, sleepy koala, waratah, banksia, wattle, flannel flowers, gumnuts, baubles and a big bow. The centre is left empty for your own message.
Aussie bush garland for the top of the window, with fairy-wrens, a kookaburra and a koala.
'Merry Christmas' lettering in two versions, one normal and one mirrored. Use the mirrored sheet when you paint on the inside of the glass, so people outside read it the right way round.
6 single motifs, one per A4 page: kookaburra in a Santa hat, koala with a present, pavlova, Christmas beetle, present with wattle and Christmas thongs.
No A3 printer? No problem
You get every design in five sizes, so you can print it on whatever you have:
A3: one sheet per design
A4: the same designs, smaller
2 × A4 pages: tape together for about A3
4 × A4 pages: tape together for about A2, good for classrooms and small shop windows
A0 print-shop file: for proper shop windows. Print at any print shop. The wreath comes out about 75 × 97 cm
Which size for my window? Use A3 for a home window, 4 × A4 for a classroom, and A0 for a shop window. For a shop window, the A0 garland is about 1.1 m long, so print it twice to span a 2 m window.
The tape-together pages have a little map in the corner and alignment marks, so they line up easily. Finished sizes are approximate.
Which markers?
Best on glass: uni Chalk Markers. They're bright on windows and wipe off with a damp cloth.
POSCA also works: outline with PC-5M, then fill with PC-8K. The colour guide lists the exact POSCA colours used in our examples.
Always test your markers on a small corner of the glass first.

Straight after checkout your order confirmation email has a download button. Click it to download one ZIP file with every size, the colour guide and a short guide to which file to print.
Yes. Every design comes as pages for a normal A4 printer that you tape together: 2 pages make about A3 and 4 pages make about A2. Each page has alignment marks.
For a proper shop window, take the A0 file to a print shop. The wreath comes out about 75 × 97 cm and the garland about 1.1 m long. For a home window, A3 or 2 × A4 is plenty.
Tape the template to the outside, printed side facing in, and paint on the inside where the weather can't reach it. Use the mirrored lettering sheet so the words read the right way round from the street.
