Common questions
Everything people ask us about POSCA before they buy.
A 4.5–5.5mm bullet tip that fills shapes fast — posters, canvas and boards — while still giving you a controllable edge. It is also a good base-coat pen on rocks, wood and ceramics before you add detail with a 3M or 5M.
Broader tips hold more paint, so they need more presses to charge. Shake with the cap on until the mixing ball rattles, then press the tip straight down on scrap paper until the colour comes through. Do not over-pump — a flooded tip drips.
Yes. POSCA is opaque, so light goes over dark just as easily as dark over light. Let each layer dry completely first or the tip will lift the colour underneath and muddy both. More in techniques.
Only if you seal it. Bare POSCA outdoors fades and weathers. Once the piece has dried for 24 hours, a water-based clear spray varnish in several light passes makes a real difference to how long it lasts.
Yes. We supply schools and government buyers and accept purchase orders with 30-day terms on approved accounts. Bulk quotes start at 24 pens — send us your list and we answer within 3 business hours.
